The Challenge

The chain's 12 locations averaged 8-minute checkout queues during peak hours, leading to abandoned carts and frustrated customers. Staff turnover at checkout positions was 40% annually, and training new cashiers took 2 weeks. The existing POS system was 7 years old and couldn't integrate with their new inventory management platform.

Our Approach

We deployed touchscreen self-service kiosks with integrated barcode scanners, Datecs BC-50 fiscal printers, and cash acceptor units. The system handles product scanning, payment (card and cash), receipt printing, and ANAF fiscal reporting. A management dashboard tracks kiosk performance, alerts on hardware issues, and syncs with inventory in real time. The kiosks work offline and queue transactions for sync when connectivity returns.
